This start takes you though the final minute of a start at the 2016 Flying Scot Midwinters Regatta at St. Andrews Bay during the final minute of a start (race unknown). There are a few things the captain (me) didn't do to protect against boats to windward and we ended up in bad air. The problems were compounded with the two boats immediately to windward being OCS and putting us in their horrible air. Like so many bad starts, we realized this situation could have been avoided if we had just done a few things differently. In this particular situation, we had an incentive to inform the the boats in front of us to get clear. :-)
